Meet the WCM lesson horses. Some work for us full-time, some are just part-time, all give us their best when we ask of them. They are wonderful teachers who take excellent care of their students. We thank them for their dedicated service.

All of our regularly scheduled lessons are private or semi-private, with larger group (4 or more riders) lessons scheduled for drill team or traffic handling skills. Valarie Siemer, Head Trainer, has set strict guidelines for our instructors. Our training staff is proud to offer excellent instruction in all disciplines. While we start new riders in the Saddleseat discipline, once a rider has attained good control of his/her body and the horse, he/she can choose another discipline. We feel that with a good beginning, riders are prepared and balanced to in any seat. That is why we set goals and provide supervision so that he/she can meet those goals - all while having fun.

At WCM, we have very high standards for safety and horesemanship skills. We hope, that even if a rider never has the opportunity to show, that he/she will be able to ride any horse in any type of tack and know what to do to stay safe and have fun. Riders and drivers learn to groom, tack and untack, know the parts of the equipment and the parts of the horse, are responsbible to cool down the horse when finished with their lesson and put everything away. As part of the fitness program, all riders are required to stretch and do exercises at the beginning and ending of each lesson, this prepares the rider for work and allows the horses to warm up and cool down at the walk, therefore, greatly reducing injury to everyone.

Lessons are signed up on a 12 week basis, and paid a month in advance. Beginners work during daylight hours only. There are makeup sessions in the event of excused absences or weather. Intermediate and Advanced riders are scheduled 2-3 additional group lessons during in the 12 weeks to prepare for upcoming shows. Each student attends a tack cleaning session per month, on Saturdays or rainy days. The nature of our well-rounded program, produces educated and capable horsemen, not just riders, but those who appreciate the horses and are able to manage all facets of horsemanship as they progress. They are prepared for a future of safe and fun interaction with horses.

Birthday Party Camp

As a result of great community encouragement, WCM has broadened our WCM Horse Camp experience to allow participants to celebrate his/her birthday safely and in horse style. This service is available throughout the year on a limited number of days. We have to schedule around our existing show, lesson, and holiday schedule. Children from 6 years on up may ride. Younger children may attend and participate in alternate horse activities. The parties are 3 hours long and involve educational horse activities such as grooming, tacking up, riding, and untacking. We may also offer carriage rides, based on the group size, weather conditions, and schedule for that particular day. While one group is riding, there are various horse-themed games and arts & crafts to keep everyone busy. The riding portion will be english (unless otherwise specified), and each rider will have an assigned instructor to work with him/her. The rides are in a mini-lesson format where the riders work on skills to steer, post, and maintain control in the saddle. The more advanced a rider is, the more he/she will be allowed to do, and our instructors will assess each student accordingly. Our excellent lesson horses help give these kids learn the proper way to ride, drive, stay safe, and have fun! These Morgans are kind, friendly and love attention.

While patterned after WCM Summer and Winter Horse Camp or Lesson experiences, each WCM Camp Birthday Party experience has its own individual flavor and focus on the birthday boy or girl of the day. We encourage you to bring snacks, and drinks, as well as a cake and any decorations. We will do our very best to ensure that everyone has a wonderful and memorable experience on that special day.

Prices are based on number of children for the 3 hour experience:
1-10 kids $375
11-15 kids $450
16-20 kids $500

Custom WCM Birthday bags are available for these parties. $5.00 per bag, includes 10 cool items for the party participants to enjoy and take home with them from the fun event. The birthday girl/boy also gets an special treat! Please email or call Anne for ordering and scheduling information.
